just another day

Today is going to be another amazing day on planet earth.
A lifetime of love between two people will come to an abrupt halt with someone dying
On this day a boy on the threshold of manhood will kill for what he thinks is a noble cause
Somewhere a religious leader will convince someone that his or her soul is now saved
A Muslim will offer up his life to Allah in the form of martyrdom
Some hiker today will see the most beautiful thing that they will ever lay eyes on
A baby will be born and its mother will die in the process, leaving it an orphan
Someone will enter a monastery today never leave again
An author will complete a book that took years to write, and realize it’s no good
Two young people will fall in love, and it will last the rest of their lives
Forests will be cut down to never again reign in their majestic glory
This morning a man will arise knowing that today he will be executed
For some, today will be the defining day of their existence
Others will not even get out of bed or step foot outside
Yes, today is going to be another amazing day indeed.
